About Us
After decades of research and development in the area of microbial biomass technology and waste treatment systems, Jere Northrop's goal of practically applying these technologies was realized with the formation of TimberFish, LLC in 2008. To further develop the mission of TimberFish Technologies, Mr. Northrop partnered with co-founder Aaron Resnick who brings business experience to the biotechnology company. The combined effort has solidified TimberFish Technologies position as a significant technology developer and holder of intellectual property for applications in the aquaculture industry.Management Team
Jere Northrop, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer / Co-Founder
Throughout his professional career Jere Northrop has been developing and refining the biological foundations for complex environmental management processes. This work has recently culminated in the operational realization of the TimberFish Technology Platform, its protection via an extensive intellectual property position, and the inclusion of both of these in the incorporation of TimberFish Technologies.
In 1989, he cofounded Bion Technologies Inc. (OTC: BNET) and he is the inventor of the patented technologies that are the basis for Bion's comprehensive waste environmental treatment systems. At Bion he was responsible for the design, construction, and operation of large manure management systems for dairy and hog farms, and wastewater treatment systems for the agricultural and food processing industries. From 1989 to 1999, Jere served as the President of Bion, and from 1989 to 2009, he was a Director.
Prior to Bion Jere spent ten years as a process superintendent at a large advanced wastewater treatment plant. In this latter capacity he supervised a two stage activated sludge process with a nitrifying second stage, biological phosphorus removal, pure oxygen and sodium hypochlorite generation, multiple hearth incineration, and tertiary treatment processes. While at the wastewater treatment plant he developed a Biomonitoring program that included raising trout in the wastewater treatment plant effluent.
He has managed testing and research laboratories, worked as an environmental chemist, and continues an ongoing research program in theoretical biology and universal languages.
Dr. Northrop has an A.B in biology from Amherst College and a Ph.D. in biophysics from Syracuse University.
